In one of his most philosophical works, prolific Korean auteur Hong Sang-soo examines the virtues of living in the here and now via fragments of two seemingly mundane lives. Hong’s long-time muse Kim Min-hee stars as an actress who offers advice on her profession to her aspiring actress cousin. Elsewhere in the city, a young man interviews a poet who can’t drink or smoke for health reasons (Hong himself?) on his outlook on life and love. A glass of soju, a lovely cat, the simple pleasures are what make up the meaning of life.
