A college girl who loves surfing has a crush on a selfless firefighter who rescues her from her flaming apartment. When he drowns saving a life, their first love amazingly survives as he reappears in water whenever she sings the song about their memories. But slowly, she realizes that she has to ride her own wave to set him free. Going off his warped crest in Lu Over the Wall (2017), maverick animator Yuasa Masaaki pitches a simple yet enchanting story of love and moving on, in his blue ocean of visual poetry.
