The Decalogue: Nine & Ten(Dekalog, dziewięć & dziesięć)

Krzysztof Kieślowski’s mesmerising anthology series ends on stories about two different types of romance in its final two episodes. In The Decalogue: Nine, a woman takes a lover on the advice of her impotent husband, but she remains hopelessly devoted to him in spite of his endless bouts of self-pity. Its side story of a woman receiving heart transplant would be reincarnated in The Double Life of Véronique. In The Decalogue: Ten, the only darkly comedic story of the series, two brothers see their brotherly love suffer when they become consumed with protecting the valuable stamp collection that their late estranged father left behind.
