Roy Walker, a stuntman working in silent era Hollywood, is hospitalised after jumping off a bridge for a film. Paralysed, possibly permanently, he finds himself bedridden next to a young girl, Alexandria, whom he proceeds to entertain with a fantastical story of daring and heroism. The work of a singular visual stylist operating at the very peak of his powers, and adapted from Zako Heskiya’s 1981 Bulgarian fantasy Yo Ho Ho , Tarsem's The Fall is a ravishing spectacle of boundless artistry and imagination that unfolds in a carnival of dazzling set-pieces, while propelled by the boundless escapism found only in the best children’s bedtime stories.
